Three Generations

This weekend was fabulous!  My son and family came down for a 4 day weekend and we went on the river with our canoes for 3 consecutive days.  We floated down river and paddled back up or we paddled up river and floated back down-spending at least 7-8 hours each day on the water.  We don’t just sit in a canoe and float down river.  Oh no. We bank the canoes throughout the day and swim and float down current in the water, fish, and even do a bit of art sitting at the water’s edge.  My son, daughter-in-law, grandson and grand daughter all love to fish.  So more often than not, when we bank the canoes the fishing poles come out and everyone scrambles to get to the best fishing hole first.  And then we come in behind each other after one has moved along and catch the fish they couldn’t hook.  We have a blast…three generations of fishermen.

  1. Even before I became vegetarian as a young woman and later vegan, I couldn’t see the fascination of fishing, but it was a great bonding experience for my dad and brothers during those awkward years – and I love ‘A River Runs Through It!’ What a lovely weekend for your family. Our family pursuits tend to revolve around cycling
